McClelland family, welcome to the 2018 Midlands Bridal Fair. We are so excited to introduce you and your business to our Brides- and Grooms-to-be!

Lions River Craft Brewery is the result of Ronald McClelland’s lifelong love affair with beer. Irish born, Ron was exposed to the wonder of brewing from an early age, with his father being an avid home brewer. Ron followed in his father’s footsteps, and started brewing beer as a hobby, but he soon had the locals insisting that he supply the restaurants around Lions River. And thank goodness he listened.

Ron’s hobby soon expanded rather substantially when he purchased a Germanmade 500 litre system. His three adult sons (Devin, Sean and Stuart) are equally passionate about beer and assist him with all processes. Since his beer hit the market in January 2015, they have been hard pressed to keep up with the demand. With a wide selection of styles, there will be a beer, or many, that suits your style. Of particular mention is their superb Vanilla Porter. This is full bodied and quite sweet, which complements the subtle Vanilla in the finish.

They will be offering four of their beers at the Midlands Bridal Fair:
  1. Vienna Lager
  2. Kölsch
  3. American Pale Ale
  4. Bohemian Pilsner

They will offer tasters and serve 500 ml draughts.

A little about each of these beers:

German Fest Beer

An unfiltered, medium bodied Bavarian style festival lager with an amber appearance with a fine, off-white creamy head.  The taste is ‘bready’ with a hint of hops to balance the maltiness and the aroma is malty with a ‘bready’ nose.

Pale Ale

Amber with a delicious creamy head. Wholesome taste with a clean, smooth hoppiness and a woody, earthy quality. Full mouth, medium-naturally carbonated. A distinct citrus aroma, ‘Cascade Hop’ and a hint of caramel.

Bohemian Pilsner

A light gold to deep gold appearance with a creamy head. The aroma is rich, complex, floral and spicy. A crisp taste, rich complex maltiness and a dry to medium finish. Medium carbonation and light bodied.
