Etienne & Claire, welcome to the 2018 Midlands Bridal Fair. We are so excited to introduce you and your business to our Brides- and Grooms-to-be!
We’d love to know more about you and how you got into the industry…
Etienne has a commercial photography business, EKO Photographic, which is in its 10th year. I (Claire) have 10 years’ experience working in the portrait and events photography arena. We met in 2013 and were married in 2014. Wild Olive, named after our daughter, was born from a mutual love for portrait and wedding photography as well as the enjoyment we get from working and creating together.
What services and expertise does your business offer to clients?
Wild Olive is a wedding and portrait photography business. We also offer videography in the form of 4-5 minute cinematic video, bespoke leather-bound wedding albums, hand-made linen photography memory boxes, as well as a variety of printing and framing methods.
Etienne has a qualification in interior design with distinction in photography. He studied photography further at Richmond College in the UK, and has completed many one-on-one courses with professional photographers in the UK. I have a teaching degree and photography qualification from the National College of Photography (now VEGA).
How long have you been doing this for?
Photography – 15 years. Wild Olive – one and a half years.
What do you love most about the work you do?
We love presenting our clients with beautiful, authentic images of their wedding day that take them back to the emotions of that day. We love handing over prints and albums to our clients that contain beautiful, personal memories that will last a lifetime.
What differentiates your business and makes you stand out? What are you known for?
We like to get to know our clients before their wedding so that we are able to document their wedding in an authentic way, that brings our their personalities and the vibe of their day. It’s not just ‘another wedding day’ for us! We spend many hours planning the photography of the wedding day so that we are able to capture those beautiful moments with ease. Every image in our client’s wedding album is individually edited, with much thought and care, so as to bring out the emotions and feel of the day.
What can visitors to the Midlands Bridal Fair expect to see from you at the fair?
Sample of our work and products; as well as to meet us and chat.
Any client testimonial/s you’d like to share?
“Dearest Clair and Et, wow wow wow! To say that Bruce and I are more than impressed would still be such an understatement… those pics and videos are just incredible. Thank you both for letting us relive our day each time we open our album. We are so blessed to have had you.” – Michaela Curtis
“Thank you Claire and Etienne for giving us timeless memories of our beautiful day. You made us all feel so comfortable and truly captured the amazing day perfectly. Thank you so much, the best team ever!” – Jenny-Leigh Klaassens
What advice would you give to Brides- and/or Grooms-to-be?
Make sure that you get along with your suppliers, especially the ones that you will spend time with leading up to and on your wedding day! Try and keep the week before your wedding day ‘task free’ and spend some time pampering yourself – a massage is always a good thing!
Do you have a favourite quote?
“Your time is limited, don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t let the noise of other opinions drown your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition, they somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.” – Steve Jobs
